Thanks for stopping by. My name is Crystal, I was born on the beautiful island of Trinidad and Tobago but have resided in Miami, FL for most of my life. Thankfully I have a penchant for subtropical climates and endless ocean views.
In 2015 I created Habit Activ as an active apparel brand. What first was an attempt to marry my love for physical fitness and apparel design slowly evolved into a daily unquenchable thirst for all things health and wellness. And while the term wellness can feel like a commercialized term used still hawk new age products, to me, it retains true personal value as a potent agent for epigenetic / experiential change. My optimum well-being stems from a life rooted in spiritual inquiry, exercise, nutrition, and most importantly, ceaseless Self-exploration.
Taking care of ourselves mentally, physically, and spiritually isn’t only a privilege but our greatest responsibility. By doing so we can unlock unlimited potential- and become better equipped to deal with the ever-changing world around us.
As an activewear apparel designer by trade, you will see custom pieces I have designed throughout the site, but my primary goal is to use this space as an opportunity to share information I collect on my journey toward designing my best life. I wasn’t born knowing how to eat right, exercise, or be mindful. Instead, my journey unfolded in layers- with each component playing a significant role in my overall self-development. Learning proper exercise, nutrition, and mindfulness techniques have changed the course of my life and allowed me to fully transform my environment and experience. I used to be someone that was insecure and ridden with anxiety and depression and now I am on a path that is as calm and serene as it is hopeful. There are still ups and downs but I feel so much more prepared to handle whatever life throws at me- because I can finally see that it is all working toward my greater good.
I love to experiment and am naturally curious about everything from what drives human existence to the proper way to do a push-up. I hope to treat this site as a journal of those experiments, where I try to answer the questions that perplex me and share information that has improved the quality of my life.
I don’t believe my ideas are a one size fits all. I do believe we should all be actively seeking a lifestyle that allows us to feel like our best selves, and I hope my trail inspires you to discover your own.
All IS well.
